Description

Hand-dyed using the pits from avocados. No mordant was used and yarn was solar dyed, so only the sun’s energy was used. The colour is a light apricot-pink, with a subtle gradient.

This laceweight commercially processed yarn has been made from local suri alpaca, superfine merino and bamboo. The full production process, from scouring to spinning was also undertaken locally on a small run basis. This yarn is super soft and has a luxuriant feel with lovely sheen from the suri and bamboo combination. Would knit up beautifully into a light and warm triangular shawl or lacy cardigan. Also perfect for baby’s wear and lightweight blankets. Can be custom dyed.
