Description

Hand-dyed using leaves from the Cherry Ballart tree (Exocarpos-cupressiformis). Although most of the natural plant dyed yarns have no mordant, this skein used an Alum mordant.

This laceweight commercially processed yarn has been made from local suri alpaca, superfine merino and bamboo. The full production process, from scouring to spinning was also undertaken locally on a small run basis. This yarn is super soft and has a luxuriant feel with lovely sheen from the suri and bamboo combination. Would knit up beautifully into a light and warm triangular shawl or lacy cardigan. Also perfect for baby’s wear and lightweight blankets. Can be custom dyed.
